Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is a ubiquitous redox cofactor rather than a peptide, supplied here in lyophilized research grade. It is central to metabolic and ageing literature because its cellular ratio governs both energy metabolism and the activity of several signalling enzyme families.
Cycles between oxidised (NAD+) and reduced (NADH) states as an electron carrier in glycolysis, the TCA cycle and oxidative phosphorylation. As a consumed substrate it also drives sirtuin deacetylases and PARP enzymes, linking redox state directly to chromatin regulation and DNA repair signalling.

Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening to prevent condensation on the lyophilized cake. Add sterile or bacteriostatic water slowly down the inner wall of the vial, then let the powder dissolve without agitation; swirl gently if needed. Do not shake or vortex — shear forces denature peptide secondary structure and cause foaming that traps material on the stopper.
Hygroscopic and pH-sensitive. Aqueous solutions degrade appreciably above neutral pH; prepare fresh working solutions and keep stock desiccated.
