Thymosin beta-4 is a 43-residue, highly conserved intracellular protein and the principal G-actin-sequestering molecule in mammalian cells. It is the full length parent of the TB-500 fragment and is chosen when the complete sequence is required.
Binds monomeric actin in a 1:1 complex, buffering the free-monomer pool that drives filament assembly. Extracellular activity described in the literature includes modulation of angiogenic signalling and suppression of inflammatory mediators, though the receptor mediating these effects is not fully defined.

Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening to prevent condensation on the lyophilized cake. Add sterile or bacteriostatic water slowly down the inner wall of the vial, then let the powder dissolve without agitation; swirl gently if needed. Do not shake or vortex — shear forces denature peptide secondary structure and cause foaming that traps material on the stopper.
As a sealed lyophilized powder the material is stable for extended periods at -20 °C when kept desiccated and protected from light. Once in solution, stability shortens considerably: aqueous stocks are normally held at 2-8 °C for short term work or aliquoted and frozen for longer storage. Repeated freeze-thaw cycling is the most common cause of measurable potency loss.
