CJC-1295 with drug affinity complex is a tetra-substituted GHRH(1-29) analog carrying a maleimidopropionyl group that forms a covalent bond with serum albumin after administration. It is the long-acting member of the CJC-1295 pair and is used where sustained receptor exposure is the experimental variable.
Agonist at the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor on pituitary somatotrophs, raising cAMP and driving growth hormone transcription and release. The albumin conjugation via the DAC linker extends circulating half-life from minutes to days, producing a sustained rather than pulsatile exposure profile.

Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening to prevent condensation on the lyophilized cake. Add sterile or bacteriostatic water slowly down the inner wall of the vial, then let the powder dissolve without agitation; swirl gently if needed. Do not shake or vortex — shear forces denature peptide secondary structure and cause foaming that traps material on the stopper.
As a sealed lyophilized powder the material is stable for extended periods at -20 °C when kept desiccated and protected from light. Once in solution, stability shortens considerably: aqueous stocks are normally held at 2-8 °C for short term work or aliquoted and frozen for longer storage. Repeated freeze-thaw cycling is the most common cause of measurable potency loss.
